Last year, I had the
opportunity to bring STRIVE strength training
equipment to the Ralph J, Stolle Countryside YMCA,
the largest full facility YMCA in the nation. With
a rich history of providing the best programming and
equipment, our team did a tremendous amount of
research and planning before we decided to invest in
the comprehensive STRIVE “program.” I call it a
program because it is truly a complete package from
start to finish and was run as a program within the
Health & Wellness department.
From our very first
contact with Michaela, it was evident that the
organization has strong family values that are self
evident in their level of service, marketing and
mission. I feel that what can be done with the
STRIVE program can really be programmed in a way
that esemplifies our mission of developing a healthy
spirit, mind and body. With the type of quick
results we saw at our facility, combined with the
increases self esteem we saw in kids and adults, our
team and Board of Directors felt food that we had
purchased the best equipment available and used it
to meet our mission. This was really a result of
working closely with the STRIVE team throughout the
entire process.
I was especially
pleased with the extra support that STRIVE provides
with frontline staff training so that they are
prepared to explain what makes STRIVE the most
effective and efficient workout that there is, and
more! We were also supplied with marketing material
including posters, construction barrels, hard hats
and vests that our staff wore to promote a “Bodies
Under Construction” theme.
When the equipment
arrived, STRIVE staff arrived to train our fitness
staff about how to best utilize the equipment and
how to best implement the system for our YMCA.
Everyone learned a lot from this training, even the
most seasoned staff.
Since then, I have
moved to the West Family YMCA & Boise City Aquatic
Center in Boise, Idaho and I am working to bring a
STRIVE Circuit to this branch. Our downtown branch
will be brining in two circuits later this year and
feel that it will be a tremendous tool that we can
use to reach health seekers and youth.
I couldn’t recommend a
better line of strength equipment and feel any
better about the level of service that we continue
to receive. On top of that, I love to tell our
staff that it is our “mission” equipment. By
helping people get fit and achieve real results, we
are improving the quality of life for families.
