I have been weight training for over 25 years; over
the years I have used many different weight machines
and free weights. Recently, I worked out at a
gym (Ballys Morton Grove, IL) that had some STRIVE
equipment.
After using the STRIVE equipment a few times, I felt
the machines offered a new scientific break through
in intense weight training. The adjustable cam
changes the weight resistance over the motion of the
exercise, doing 3 to 5 sets, with 0-30 seconds of
rest in-between sets, thoroughly works the muscle.
The intense training reminds me of doing forced
repetitions without a need of a spotter, because the
different positions of the cam apply weight to all
areas of the motion of the exercise, causing the
muscle to burn with exhaustion. Also, good
from can be kept while pushing the weight with
maximum effort, eliminating injuries that may be
caused by twisting and turning.
Each set utilizing the STRIVE adjustable cam; it is
like having up to 9 individually set machines.
I say this because other machines have stationary
cams and each rep has the same motion of resistance.
The STRIVE machine can change resistance level along
the range of motion of the exercise by adjusting the
cam. For example, set 1 most of the
resistance is in the middle of the motion (like a
conventional machine), set 2 applies most of the
resistance to the top of the motion making the
beginning and middle easier to push, and set 3
applies the most of the resistance to the bottom of
motion. This training technique is best
explained by experiencing the STRIVE system.
I recently purchased 11 selectorized STRIVE machines
for my house, and strongly believe they are
technically superior to any weight training
equipment of the market. Over the years, there
has been a lot of hype about weight training
equipment, but the STRIVE system is the break
through.
